About Greg

I grew up in Collingwood and have spent nearly thirty years working in musical theatre, live performance, and music education across Canada, the United States, and around the world.  For fifteen years I worked as a Music Director and Pianist with Holland America Line and Norwegian Cruise Lines — travelling to all seven continents and more than sixty countries. I hold a Bachelor of Music from Queen's University and have worked with theatre companies from Vermont to Vancouver.  I'm back home in Collingwood now, and genuinely love what I do every day — whether that's helping a nine-year-old find middle C for the first time, or coaching a performer through a high-stakes audition.

Lessons & Coaching

Learning music should feel joyful.

Whether you're sitting at a piano for the first time, preparing for a musical theatre audition, or returning to music after years away — my goal is to make every lesson feel worthwhile, encouraging, and fun.  I work with students of all ages, from young beginners to adults, and tailor each lesson to the individual's goals, pace, and personality. There's no single right way to learn music, and I've found that students flourish when they feel genuinely supported and heard.

Piano
(beginner & intermediate)

Building technique, reading music, and developing a real feel for the instrument at any age.

Voice
(beginner & intermediate)

Finding your voice, building range and control, and singing with confidence.

Music Theory

Understanding the language behind the music — from reading notation to harmony and ear training.

Music History

Exploring the stories, composers, and movements that shaped the music we love.

Vocal Coaching

Refining performances, expression, and stylistic choices for singers who want to go deeper.

Musical Theatre Audition Prep

Choosing the right audition cut, working the material, and walking in ready and confident.

Lessons are available in 30, 45, or 60 minute formats and are typically held weekly at my studio in Collingwood. Lessons outside the studio may be possible in some cases — just ask!  Parents are welcome to sit in for the first couple of lessons. After that, students typically work independently, helping them build confidence and focus.
